Pelvic Floor Dysfunction

Real-time ultrasound imaging is a safe, noninvasive way to assess the pelvic floor dysfunction by looking at the lower abdomen. Breathing patterns are also evaluated since proper diaphragmatic breathing is an essential component of pelvic floor function. With our state-of-the-art ultrasound, you can see the contraction of pelvic floor muscles and will learn how to correctly perform the exercises that contract and relax this muscle group.

Mastitis/Blocked Milk Ducts

A clogged milk duct can be quickly alleviated with therapeutic ultrasound. If left untreated, mastitis can result. It sets on rapidly with the sufferer getting a fever, sharp pain in the breast and rigors. It is best to seek attention immediately if you suspect you may have a blocked duct.

Pre- and Post-Natal Exercises

Pregnancy is a time of remarkable change. It’s essential to exercise safely yet effectively. As pregnancy progresses, weaknesses in joints and muscles may become apparent. Once your baby is born, your pelvic floor should be addressed, and a strong lower back is vital for carrying your baby around. Our physiotherapists can prescribe an exercise program that’s right for you before and after birth.

Osteoporosis

Calcium in the bones decreases with age, leaving you susceptible to osteoporosis. A programme that involves weight-bearing exercises can decrease the loss of bone density. Walking and lifting weights or concentrating on your balance may be recommended to strengthen your bone dentistry and prevent falls, which is a common cause of fractures. Your physiotherapist will further advise you on healthy lifestyle habits to keep you strong and functioning.
